Veteran OUR CARAVAN Breaks 42-Year-Old Track Record in Win

Nearing the $500,000 mark in earnings, OUR CARAVAN chalked up his fourth straight win, and seventh of the year, with a new track performance going a mile and 40 yards on the dirt. The son of DAAHER raced close to the frontrunner until midstretch, then caught that one with a furlong to go and inched away to earn the win by a head in a time of 1:40, breaking the track record that was established back in 1975, at Finger Lakes. OUR CARAVAN won his only start at two taking a Gulfstream Park Maiden Special Weight by three lengths. The 9 3/4-length Calder Derby winner now has career earnings of $482,308. He was bred in Kentucky by Hare Forest Farm out of the Elusive Quality mare Alwaan.
