MS. MAXIMA Pulls Away for Allowance Score

Shortening back up after placing in a one mile allowance last out, MS. MAXIMA took charge near the half-mile pole and drew clear against stakes horses for a 3 1/4-length win in this six-furlong allowance. The daughter of ALBERTUS MAXIMUS hopped at the break but quickly rushed up to challenge for the lead. She had moved out to be more than two lengths in front by the top of the stretch and never was challenged at Mahoning Valley for her third win. In her Maiden Special Weight victory, MS. MAXIMA was a wire-to-wire winner even though her jockey’s reins broke heading onto the back stretch and he literally hand rode her the rest of the way to the wire. MS. MAXIMA was bred by Jac Tomasello out of the Holy Bull mare, Holy Akadya.
