MOHAYMEN, Second Leading Sire by Average at FT California

First-crop yearlings by multiple Graded stakes winner MOHAYMEN sold well at the Fasig-Tipton California Fall Sale which propelled him to be the second ranked leading sire by average. With two offered and two sold, he was led by the $70,000 filly purchase by Naseer Fasihuddin. Hip 217, a March 16th foal out of the stakes-placed Distorted Humor mare, Alseera, was bred by Terry C. Lovingier and consigned to the sale by his Lovacres Ranch. Going for $50,000 to Red Barons Barn / Rancho Temescal was hip 123, a January 18th foal out of the Indian Charlie mare, Quick Wampum. The colt was bred by Richard Barton Enterprises & Robert Traynor and consigned by Barton Thoroughbreds, agent. For the sale, MOHAYMEN yearlings averaged $60,000, ahead of such sires as Sky Mesa and Stay Thirsty.
