MOHAYMEN Among Top 10 First-Crop Weanling Sales Sires

With first-crop weanlings offered in this season’s mixed sales, multiple Graded stakes winner MOHAYMEN finished in the top ten of all first-crop sires by average and median. He was represented at the Fasig-Kentucky Kentucky November Sale with a $145,000 colt (hip 71) out of Super Phoebe, by Malabar Gold. He was bred by Mt. Joy Stables, Pope McLean, Marc McLean & Pope McLean Jr., and purchased by Redly Bloodstock. At Keeneland November, MOHAYMEN had a $75,000 colt go to Lannon Lane Bloodstock. Out of the Distorted Humor mare, Bashoosha, hip 511 was bred by Lannister Holdings. And the highest priced weanling in the final five sessions of the sale was another colt by MOHAYMEN. Bred by Carrie Ann Walker out of the War Chant mare, Gayatri, hip 3904 sold for $70,000 to J & S Racing. Overall, his first-crop weanlings averaged $46,363, had a median of $43,000, with 11 sold from 15 offered.
