MAXIMIAN Battles to the Wire in Allowance Score

MAXIMIAN won for the sixth time after a gutsy stretch drive to take a 1 1/16-mile allowance by a nose. The son of ALBERTUS MAXIMUS was unhurried early after breaking from post five in this field of 11. He began to make his move going six wide on the far turn, then continued his rally battling head-to-head through the stretch and won the battle to the wire at Penn National. MAXIMIAN, who won his 3-year-old seasonal debut by three lengths at Fair Grounds in his third career start, pushed his earnings over $121,000. He was bred by Makadam Farms, LLC, Ian Medina & Kiana Medina out of the Real Quiet mare, Michele’s Baby.
