At this year’s Keeneland September sales, first-crop yearlings by multiple Grade 2 winner MOHAYMEN are seeing good returns. Purchased by John Oxley for $120,000 was hip 1652, a filly bred by Clearsky Farms out of Afillyation, by Gimmeawink. It was only the second horse that Oxley had purchased at the sale up to that point. Another filly, hip 3046, out of March to Glory, by Marchfield, bred by Reggie Beeson & Tim Beeson, brought $75,000 by Sam Costanzo, and a gray/roan colt out of Bashoosha, by Distorted Humor, bred by Lannister Holdings, brought $70,000 from Vortex Racing. To date, including the Fasig-Tipton Selected Showcase and the Keeneland September sales, MOHAYMEN is ranked among the Top Five First-Crop Sires of yearlings by median price ($72,500), and seventh by average ($73,500).
