First Crop 2YO Stakes Horses on Sunday include a G3 Runner-Up

Stakes winner MY HEART GOES ON faced males and two turns for the first time and finished runner-up in the Gottstein Futurity. The 2-year-old filly from the first crop of ALBERTUS MAXIMUS set the pace most of the way going 1 1/16 miles at Emerald Downs and finished nearly four lengths in front of the third-place horse. MY HEART GOES ON has won or placed in all five starts, including a stakes win and now three stakes placings. Also on Sunday, DOBLE FONDO, a 2-year-old colt bred in Kentucky by Cindy Greer Harmon out of Lira Lira, by Canaveral, finished runner-up in the G3 Clásico Arquímedes Fernandez D., Arquímedes Fernandez Jr., Ibero Fernandez D., Ibero y Rafael Fernandez P. at Hipodromo Presidente Remon, in Panama. He was coming out of an eight-length debut win in which he equaled the track record for 5 1/2 furlongs.
