TAMARKUZ 1ST CROP 2YO RED FLAG DEMOLISHES FIELD IN DEL MAR’S G3 BOB HOPE

Coming off a Maiden Special Weight win on the turf at Santa Anita in his second start, RED FLAG, switching to dirt, took command before reaching the top of the stretch and powered away to a definitive 7 1/4-length win in the Bob Hope S.-G3 at Del Mar. The first-crop 2-year-old by TAMARKUZ was always in contention from the outset breaking from post five. He was four wide on the turn, kicked away from the field before the top of the stretch and drew away under only hand urging racing seven furlongs to become his sire’s first Graded stakes winner. Bred by Elaine MacPherson out of the Stormy Atlantic mare, Surrender, the colt is $220,000 Keeneland September Sales grad trained by John Shirreffs for owners Jerome S. and Tina Moss.
