DOBLE FONDO a Runaway Winner for His Second G2 Victory

DOBLE FONDO kicked off his 3-year-old campaign in grand style with a dominating win in the G2 Clásico Ernesto Navarro Díaz, Ernesto y Ramón Navarro Diez. The colt from the first crop of ALBERTUS MAXIMUS moved up to take the lead on the outside of two other challengers for the first quarter mile. From there he proceeded to take command leading by four lengths on the turn. By the time they turned for home, DOBLE FONDO had widened his margin even more and was geared down in the final sixteenth to win by eight lengths going seven furlongs at Hipodromo Presidente Remon, in Panama. He closed out his 2-year-old campaign on December 20th with a wire-to-wire eight-length win in the Clasico German Ruiz B.-G2. He also was runner-up in the G3 Clasico General Jose Antonio Remon Cantera and the G3 Clasico Arquimedes “Fat” Fernandez D. In his debut, DOBLE FONDO was an eight-length winner in which he equaled the track record for 5 1/2 furlongs. He was bred in Kentucky by Cindy Greer Harmon out of Lira Lira, by Canaveral.
