3-Year-Olds Win Impressively

At Woodbine, MISS SAVVY, making her first start in more than 4 1/2 months, broke sharply in this five-furlong sprint to take the lead soon after the break. The daughter of DAAHER was challenged near the top of the stretch, but quickly disposed of that threat and pulled away down the lane to win by three lengths in a hand ride. She won her second start at two here last year coming from off the pace to win by 1 1/4 lengths. MISS SAVVY was bred by Tom Evans and Pam Clark out of the Rahy mare, Soother.

At Prairie Meadows, HILTON MAGIC was making his debut and ran away with this five-furlong Maiden Special Weight to win by a dazzling 8 1/2 lengths. The son of DAAHER began to pull away on the turn and then drew off through the stretch under token pressure. In his five works leading up to this race, HILTON MAGIC registered bullets in three of those, including a :47 flat for a four-furlong breeze from the gate. He is a Black Oak Farm homebred out of the Evansville Slew mare, Des Moines.
