DOBLE FONDO became his sire’s first GSW after runaway win, going wire-to-wire to take the seven-furlong Clasico German Ruiz B.-G2 by a commanding eight lengths. It was the fourth start for the 2-year-old colt from the first crop of Grade 1-winning Millionaire ALBERTUS MAXIMUS. In his last two starts DOBLE FONDO finished runner-up in the six-furlong G3 Clasico General Jose Antonio Remon Cantera and also in the G3 Clasico Arquimedes “Fat” Fernandez D., all of which are run at Hipodromo Presidente Remon, in Panama. In his debut, DOBLE FONDO was an eight-length winner in which he equaled the track record for 5 1/2 furlongs. On a side note, the German Ruiz B. was also won by Private Zone, who was named Champion 2YO Colt in Panama in 2011 and came to the U.S. to win four G1 stakes. DOBLE FONDO was bred in Kentucky by Cindy Greer Harmon out of Lira Lira, by Canaveral.
