With a couple of placings under her belt on the turf, MAXIMUS BEAUTY rallied to take the lead in mid-stretch and edged away to win a one mile Maiden Special Weight at Churchill Downs by 1 1/4 lengths. Making her second start on dirt and racing on a muddy sealed track in the opening race on the Kentucky Derby undercard, the filly from the second crop of ALBERTUS MAXIMUS began to move up on the turn. She split horses turning for home, then went to the rail for the stretch drive and pulled away from the front two to get the win. MAXIMUS BEAUTY placed in her second career start at two in a Maiden Special Weight at Fair Grounds and also placed in a Maiden Special there beaten only 3/4 length in late February. MAXIMUS BEAUTY is a Philip S. Maas homebred out of Invasor Beauty, by INVASOR (ARG), and is trained by Joe Sharp. She is the third 3YO Maiden winner in the last three days for ALBERTUS MAXIMUS.
