3YO ASIYA Dominates Saratoga Allowance Field

Coming off a seven-month layoff, ASIYA proved she was ready to get back to racing with a runaway win in a Saratoga allowance. Going 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track, the 3-year-old homebred filly by DAAHER raced just of the pace early on. Swinging four wide with two furlongs to go, ASIYA moved up to gain the lead and proceeded to draw off down the stretch to win by a commanding 8 1/4 lengths. In her last start, she placed in the $100,000 Busanda S. at Aqueduct in January. Out of the Elusive Quality mare Khalila and trained by Kiaran McLaughlin, ASIYA was an 11-length Aqueduct Maiden Special Weight winner in only her second career start at 2.
