3YO Allowance and Maiden Winners for DAAHER

Runner-Up in Second Straight Stakes

2017 multiple Blacktype stakes winner RETROSPECTION returned to the winner’s circle with a strong stretch run to take an allowance race by 1 1/2 lengths. After stumbling at the break, the 3-year-old son of DAAHER raced off the pace early, moved up to challenge on the far turn, then took the lead in mid-stretch and pulled away going one mile and 70 yards at Indiana Grand. In seven starts this year, RETROSPECTION has three wins and three seconds, including wins in the $150,000 Governor’s S. and $100,000 Hoosier Breeders Sophomore S. Out of the Silver Hawk mare Atherbest, RETROSPECTION was bred by Randy Burkett, is owned by Beth Burkett and trained by Michael Maker.

MAD ANT, another 3-year-old son of DAAHER, rallied through the stretch to win a six-furlong Maiden test by a head. Fourth at the half-mile marker, MAD ANT was five wide turning for home and ran down the frontrunner to get the victory at Indiana Grand. Out of the Cozzene mare, Mocha Queen, he was bred by Michael Lauer, Jack Danehy, Barry Ward & Terry Ward, is trained by Lauer for Penny Lauer.
