2YO OLIVE OYL Breaks Maiden in Iowa Sorority

Making only the second start after finishing a neck back in her Maiden Special Weight debut, OLIVE OYL took the lead at the top of the stretch and won the $92,500 Iowa Sorority S. by 2 1/4 lengths on the annual Classics night on the closing day at Prairie Meadows. The 2-year-old filly by ALBERTUS MAXIMUS raced up close from the start. She moved up on the turn in this six-furlong race, took the top spot turning for home and pulled away in the final furlong. In her debut, OLIVE OYL was a neck back of the winner, who she defeated in the Sorority, but was nine lengths in front of the third-place finisher. She was bred by Roger Pelster & Steve Frum out of Sun Valley Wildcat, by Maggie’s Wildcat.
