2YO DAHOG Wins Battle to the Wire in Maiden Special

After finishing behind a next out stakes horse and a next out course record setter in his debut at Keeneland, DAHOG out battled his foes in his second career start to win a Maiden Special Weight by a nose. The 2-year-old son of DAAHER raced fairly close up until the turn for home and then split rivals in upper stretch and out finished them to the wire going five furlongs on the all-weather at Presque Isle Downs. Since his debut at Keeneland, DAHOG put in five works, three of which were bullets, including a :46 3/5 for the 1/2 mile on June 18, his last work prior to this start. Bred in Kentucky by Buck Pond Farm out of the Hold That Tiger mare Quite Familiar, DAHOG is owned and trained by Wayne W. Rice.
