AZUMA MURA won for the second time taking a six-furlong sprint by 2 1/4 lengths on the main track at Laurel Park. The 2-year-old filly from the first crop of ALBERTUS MAXIMUS stalked the pace early on, went three wide on the turn, then took control in upper stretch and pulled away for the win. AZUMA MURA was a debut winner here by 2 3/4 lengths. Bred in Kentucky by Nossab LLC out of the Storm Cat mare Singin Up a Storm, the Hamilton Smith trainee races for Lee R. Christian.

The following day ALPHONSE, another 2-year-old from the first crop finished runner-up in a Maiden Special Weight.
